Feeling Hot Hot Hot!
I cannot believe that we are closing in on Labor Day! If you are amongst those of us who have experienced a very long, very hot summer, it does come with a sense of relief and anticipation of (hopefully) some cooler weather soon. This weekend marks the six-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey’s devastating flooding of the Houston area and, while I definitely do not want to ever experience a similar event, a bit (or a lot) of rain sounds very nice right about now.
I see that I have been very delinquent with these posts, as my previous one was prior to the Nashville Needlework Market in March. Yikes! But what a time we’ve had since then. We absolutely loved our first Market experience and were so pleased with the reception our sampler reproductions received. If you have purchased our patterns, I hope that you are enjoying (or looking forward to) stitching them. As we are stitchers first, we knew from the beginning that we wanted to produce a high quality product for our fellow stitchers. I really hope you’re finding that to be the case. If you have any questions about any of our charts, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email at mysisterssamplers@outlook.com or on Instagram @mysisterssamplers. We would love to hear from you.
In June, we also attended our very first Stitch Con and had an amazing time! It was such a pleasure to meet so many fellow members of the stitching community. I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced being in the presence of hundreds of people who I didn’t know but with whom I could immediately become friends. So here’s a Shout Out to our fellow Weekend B attendees and Table 23! We’re already looking forward to next year!
If you have not already seen it, I’m pleased to share that Beth also recently launched her FlossTube channel Stitching in My Pajamas! I am so excited for her and love that she has that venue to share her beautiful stitching as well as extensive knowledge of samplers and needlework. She’s a complete natural and I hope you’ll watch and subscribe to her channel. As she mentions in her FlossTube, Beth has always loved putting on her favorite jammies and stitching away, so the name is perfect. I love stitching in my pajamas too but, with as hot as it is here right now, you’re much more likely to see me stitching in my caftan. It doesn’t have quite the same ring to it and is much more along the lines of “Stitching with Mrs. Roper” (IYKYK). But do check out Beth’s inaugural FlossTube episode and encourage her to do many many more!
While Beth has been doing that (and restocking Gloriana through her silk dyeing work), I’ve been managing our “Acquisitions Department”. That’s my code for acquiring new to us antique samplers, and I have added several beauties to our collection. It’s been hard to choose which we want to include as releases (and when), but that is a very fun problem to have. Be assured that we are busily working on our next set of pattern releases. We intentionally opted out of this year’s online Needlework Marketplace, as the timing just didn’t work for us but we have several wonderful samplers “in the hopper”. Included is a delightful Christmas sampler that I am hoping to release within the next month or so for inclusion in your holiday stitching. Then the rest of our next releases will be made available at Nashville Needlework Market 2024. But we will be sharing plenty of sneak peeks on Instagram and via Beth’s FlossTube. In the meantime, Beth has added a list of local and online needlework stores who have purchased charts from us. If your LNS is not on the list, please ask them reach out to us via email – we are happy to ship everywhere (including internationally). Or please reach out to us directly and we’ll be happy to help.
This has gotten a bit lengthy (although I had a lot of ground to cover, I guess) so I will wrap up. Thanks again for your support of our sampler endeavor. We are still at the beginning of our journey and loving every step. Until later . . . Happy Stitching.
